Computer Recycling London

New Leaf can help with the collection of any redundant IT from your office or home. Laptops, PC’s, servers, tablets, monitors, printers, phones, network switches, to name just a few.

We can handle almost anything electrical.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is the European Community Directive 2012/19/EU which requires individuals and businesses to ensure electronic items that have come to the end of their useful life are recycled correctly and most importantly, do not end up in landfill.

We process the equipment we receive into our secure unit by first establishing if any item has data on it. If so, we will remove the hard drive and wipe it using our specialist hardware. This machine overwrites the hard drive seven times to the Department of Defense (DOD) standards. We record the details and provide a certificate to confirm the process is complete. We can also offer to physically destroy the hard drive if that is a preference or if the hard drive is already faulty. Our American sourced hard drive crusher is specially designed to eradicate any hard drive from SSD up to 3.5inch server drive.

Once we have handled the data wiping, we then establish if the electrical item is suitable for re-use (always a preference) or if it is only suitable for recycling.

Our computer engineer will rebuild a laptop or pc. These are then offered for sale to our network of computer buyers most of whom will arrange to export the working item to developing countries where a laptop can make a real difference to a child’s or student’s education.

If the item cannot be re-used, then it will be recycled by being broken down into parts by specialist recyclers in the UK.

A WEEE certificate and waste transfer note is provided as a matter of course and to satisfy any environmental audit. We have 30 years’ experience in this field and currently work with the NHS and many large corporations.
